Veterinary students: Look for volunteer recruitment emails each month. For those interested in leadership roles, club officer recruitment for the following school year takes place in the early spring.

Volunteer duties include:
Veterinarians work with veterinary students to complete their cases. This includes ensuring a complete history and physical exam are performed, guiding the students through case work-up, and creating a treatment and follow-up plan.
Must have a valid CA DVM license.
Veterinarians frequently collaborate on cases and advise each other.
Veterinary students work in teams with other veterinary and undergraduate students to obtain histories and perform physical exams. After presenting the case to a veterinarian, students carry out diagnostic and treatment plans.
Undergraduate students assist the veterinary students and veterinarians, including providing patient restraint and scribing medical notes. Undergraduate students are also involved with dispensing vaccines and parasite preventatives and processing records.
What to bring:
Students wear scrubs, closed-toed shoes, and a name tag.
Veterinary students wear ceil blue scrubs.
Undergraduate students wear scrubs of any color.
Tools of the trade
Stethoscope.
Wristwatch.
Pens.
Water bottle; refill station is available.
Lunch is provided.

Right next to the fire station
Mercer Veterinary Clinic: The Loaves and Fishes campus is located at 1351 North C St, Sacramento, CA 95811.
The entrance to the clinic parking lot is north on Ahern St., which runs along the east side of the property. Typically one gate is allotted for vehicles and one for foot traffic.
If the parking lot is full, you will be directed down the block to parking in front of some brick light industrial buildings. Parking on Ahern St. is not permitted.
